GHOSTWOMAN

Having grown up in the small town of Three Hills, Alberta (Canada), Ghostwoman founder Evan Uschenko cut his teeth as a member of fellow Canadian Michael Rault’s band -touring with the likes of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Now he’s working as a duo: Ille van Dessel co-wrote the compositions for Ghostwoman’s third album (in eighteen months!), Hindsight Is 50/50, which multi-instrumentalist Uschenko considers to be the first album to “finally capture the true nature of the band”, adding that “the first two albums were never meant to be albums: they’re like diary pages that were burnt a long time ago. With the arrival of Ille van Dessel as co-composer/drummer, the project feels like it has a direction”. Recorded live (in analogue) over three days in a studio in Brittany, Hindsight Is 50/50 has a darker, denser sound, heavier guitars and a great taste for reverb: a cocktail that lifts Ghostwoman to the level of Black Angels or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
