HAYDEN BESSWOOD
Hayden Besswood is the solo project of Quentin Le Gorrec, originally from Saint-Nazaire, now based in Nantes, where he has forged new musical connections and developed a passion for studio experimentation, vintage instruments and equipment that he tinkers with right down to the circuit. His music is psychedelic pop influenced by the neo-folk of Andy Shauf, the home-made of Tame Impala and the odds and ends of Forever Pavot, not to mention the old groove of Holy hive/Surprise Chef. His repertoire has expanded to include sophisticated arrangements, clear pop writing and psychedelic textures, and he released his debut album Colors & Vows in 2023 on french label Requiem Pour Un Twister. The universe is rich, colorful, wobbly and full of hope. Melodies follow one another, sometimes straying into doubt, confusion and emptiness. Three years have passed since his last compositions, the young artist has been convinced by new musical genres and has continued to collect machines, microphones and new instruments to perfect and color the next universe. Already well advanced, the next album will see the light of day during 2025: you’ll get a taste of it at Levitation France this year!
